The Big Cypress Bend Boardwalk

Located at the Fakahatchee Strand State Preserve, this 2,000-foot-long boardwalk provides up close and personal access to a freshwater swamp environment that’s perfect for taking in nature. From the cypress trees to the bald eagles and herons, you’re sure to enjoy every minute of your experience.

The Audubon Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary

Upon arriving at the Audubon Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary, head immediately for the 2 miles long raised boardwalk that takes you through a marsh, cypress forest, wet prairie, and pine upland. It’s one of the top bird-watching spots in the entire country, so make sure you leave enough time in your schedule to take in the sights.

Loop Road

Would you rather experience the Big Cypress National Preserve by car? If so, Loop Road is where you should begin. It takes you deep inside the Everglades, providing an inside look at all the wildlife that lives in the area. As a secluded road with little traffic, don’t be surprised if you lay eyes on turtles, alligators, river otters, birds, and more.
